Being a very ulu town, expectation has to be adjusted accordingly and we got a room at the modest Days Inn. Problem is that because it is the week of the exhibition all prices were jacked up and I ended up paying USD 98 per night for this crappy little joint. During normal times it's only USD 60!! 打抢!
Sure, Days Inn is cheaper than Marriott Memphis East (USD 139), I really don't think Days Inn is worth the money at all. Granted I spent more at Marriott, I feel better spending it.
Dammit. Maybe next market, I should be making calls to Courtyard by Marriott across the street. Hopefully, I can get a good deal.

mht: I wish they had 5 pillows! Unfortunately, it was one lumpy plus one adequate pillow. :( 3. spellbound left... while, i have experienced even worst inns and motels in US. Coz of continuous travelling and need a night rest before heading for our destination the next day, we usually paid about USD$29-$36 for a room. Those motels reminds me of those movies where murders and crimes will take place in. But, out of those inns and motels, i preferred Best Western. Travel lodge is usually managed by ah nehs.

spellbound: Ahh... Travelodge... funny all of them that I stay before are all run by Ah Nehs??
The worst I have ever stayed is Budget Inn in Thomasville, NC. During market week, where prices are all jacked up, this motel charges me only USD 50. Man... it was a rough place. I even have to walk to the front desk to ask for shampoo.
The Ah Neh proprietress was kind enough to lend me her personal bottle!
As bad as Travelodge or Budget Inn are, the Ah Nehs are very nice people. That kinda softened the hardship a little bit. :)
I think Best Western is pretty sucky, just like Quality Inn though better than Travelodge.
