I lost it today.
Yeah, so I got home at almost 4am partying the night before and that's after powering through 44 hours without sleep.
Neverthless, I got up dutifully at 8am, getting ready for church with the family.
I can be the sloppy joe in almost everything but I just cannot accept tardiness when it comes to keeping time.
This is not the first time, there had been occasions in the past where I just dump the car keys on the table and go on ahead without her. Even if it meant taking the bus.
"Other people are also going to be late what?!" is an excuse that I've heard countless of times to which my retort is that it does not give us the right to add on to that statistic.
We have a 10.30am service on Sunday which I looked forward to with the family but if everyone were to drag their feet until we leave the front door at 10.30am, I asked myself if there is a point to it any more?
Even though the traffic was relatively smooth at the CTE, we got to church at 11+ and after dropping off Faith at Sunday school, it was 11.15am already. Lost cause.
I am not saying that I am perfect in that aspect and there are times where I am caught late. Normally, I would call ahead to apologise followed by a reschedule of my ETA.
How do you do that in this situation? Do you call the church ahead and ask the congregation of 700+ to hold off for 45 minutes, simply because you left the house late?
Simply disrespectful.
So yeah. I never liked half-fucked situations. That's me. Too bad.
Anyway, here I am sitting in the canteen outside the church and having some personal quiet time in the hope of calming myself down before I spoil the day not only for myself but for everybody else.
If I can't be under the roof of God, I guess the next best thing is to be near it.

One thing that i really can't stand is the constant movement of young people walking in and out during the sermon to visit the toilet and answering a call. So urgent meh! Bladder so full meh?

Most times i just come just when the sermon is about to start. Not that i can't wake up earlier to be there on time. Just that, i have my own routine of getting myself prepared to listen to the sermon and singing hymns before a sermon isn't part of my routine. One thing that i really can't stand is the constant movement of young people walking in and out during the sermon to visit the toilet and answering a call. So urgent meh! Bladder so full meh?

Jaschocolate: What riles me is that lack of urgency. Already late and still give me the nonchalant attitude? WTF?
TSSD: At least you got in before the sermon starts. My already started by the time I got there which is why I thot "f*ck it" and stayed outside in the canteen.

Hey dude chill chill... The lack of sleep can crank up annoyance levels quite a few notches. Things that usually annoy you during normal times are brushed aside, but with lack of sleep, it'll make you want to KKKEEEEEEEEELLL EEEVVVEEERRRRYYYYYONNNEEEEE at the slightest nudge. *I also have to chill...*

Barffie: I guess what you mean in the sense that one is cranky, reactions tend to be a little bit bigger. However, it doesn't stray from the fact that we were tardy with punctuality. 9. akk left...

Akk: I am not saying the one should be crucified if late but a call ahead to notify would have suffice nicely.
